According to Google, this is part of a YouTube video posted on December 5, 2016. The user who posted was "The Top Most HD", though I'm sure the original exporter of the ad was Subway.

When I am observing advertisements in stores, while I'm driving, or on television, I am usually annoyed or indifferent towards them. If an ad were to catch my attention it would have to really distract me from my day to day life. I believe this Subway Ad would catch me by surprise because of its boldness and simplicity. I believe this ad illustrates the deadly sin of lust because of the allusion to sex.

The advertisement uses big lettering and a shocking word that is not usually on billboards to attract the attention of the viewer. The bland color allows the viewer to be focused on the one big word and not distract them from the true purpose of the sign. After the viewer is initially shocked by the language of the word 'sex' on the billboard, they immediately want to read the rest of the advertisement.

I believe the intended audience for this advertisement is people who appreciate "no gimmick" advertisements. They are not going out of their way to convince you that Subway is the best or that the best deals are at Subway. They are just telling you to eat there. I think that in a world full of deals and commercialism, this would be a refreshing change in the eyes of many. They might even just enjoy a laugh. If this ad plays on any stereotype, it is the one that Americans are shocked by the use of 'sex' in any way in a public forum. I think that the beauty of the simplicity of this advertisement is that it is not for a person of a specific social or economic background. It also requires no cultural knowledge to understand.  I believe that the uniqueness of this ad is in its ability to entertain it's viewers rather than alienate them.
